Dr Konchok Dorjey awarded Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Scientific Excellence Award


 

JAMMU: Dr Konchok   Dorjey, currently working as Assistant Professor at Department of Botany, Eliezer Joldan Memorial College, Leh, UT Ladakh has been awarded Dr APJ Abdul Kalam award for Scientific Excellence for the year 2020.

This prestigious award is presented to him for his immense contribution in the field of mycology, particularly macrofungal diversity of Ladakh, ethnomycology and ethnobotany. The award is conferred to Dr Dorjey by Marina Labs, an institute of research and development, Chennai. The award contains certificate of excellence and award citation. Dr Dorjey is an alumni of Botany Department, University of Jammu.

He has done his doctoral research on macrofungal diversity and ethnomycology of Ladakh under the supervision of Prof. Yash Pal Sharma. For the last five years, he has been teaching undergraduate students as Assistant Professor at Department of Botany, Eliezer Joldan Memorial College Leh, UT Ladakh. Recently, he has also been awarded Research Excellence award by Institute of Scholars.
