Jammu, April 11: As it is a well known fact that otherwise RD&PR is notorious in purchases, whether meterials are required or not & lot of cases already stand registered against Director/ACD/BDOs etc etc in multi crore purchases but despite that they do not shy to purchase more.
If on today, crackdown made in BHQ's, lot of undesired meterial, which stands purchased since years shall found in the stores of so called honest BDO's in LG's clean administration, causing loss to the tune of crores to Govt exchequer.
Now, one known honest & comepetant senior KAS Officer, Rakesh Sangral, Director, Panchayati Raj has dared in the system & asked Director Rural Development Department Jammu and Kashmir , dared to stop the procurement of solar street lights ‘immediately’ as were being purchased the bosses of RD&PR.
Director PR has also asked in the said communication, officers of RDD to provide the requisition regarding the number of solar lights in each Panchayat.
The communication, copy with CTN further reads that you are requested to provide the requisition regarding the number of solar lights in each Panchayat so that quality solar lights on uniform rates and specifications can be procured from an agency by following laid down procedures and norms for procurement so that transparency is ensured.
Each RDD Block has been provided around 40 Lakh rupees for installation of solar street lights in villages. According to sources, the solar lights installed by the Rural Development Department a few years ago aren’t working, which is needed to be verified & if so, the culprit officers should be taken to task.
