DC Jammu asks to upgrade water bodies/other, Are Revenue/I&FC bosses aware of its meaning?


JAMMU, APRIL 10: Officers/offficials of DC Office, Jammu  have harassed innocents over the issue of intententially not understanding meanings of water bodies & gair mumkin khads despite clarified in State Water Plicy of 2010 in section 3, followed by SRO 456 of 2017 dtd 25th October, 2017 in section 5(2) by which even Deputy Commissioner were appointed as Adjudicating Officers.

Pertinent to mention here that even LG Office had initiated lot of enquiries over the issue.

If DC Jammu asks Revenue Officers of Jammu District and  Employees of Irrigation & Flood Control  to specify the meaning & on  demarcation of  water bodies in Jammu , what has been done after issuance of SR0-456 dated: 25th October, 2017 shall speak, how the officers of the time played deriliction of duties to comply the cabinet orders & are fit case for reccomendations as deadwoods?

However, on today, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Anshul Garg today convened a series of meetings to review status of rejuvenation of water bodies/ponds under Jal Shakti Abhiyan, augmentation of power scenario and preparedness of PDD in view of summer season and status of distribution of loans to beneficiaries identified during Back to Village in the district.

While taking the review of rejuvenation of water bodies in the district, the Deputy Commissioner said that a balanced and a holistic development model is the need of hour to protect the water bodies/ponds in order to curb the scarcity of water especially in Kandi areas.

The preservation, conservation and rejuvenation of ponds need a collective effort to make them free from garbage, dirt and filth so that the pristine glory of ponds could be revived,” the DC said. He further said that vanishing ponds needed conservation, preservation and rejuvenation.

The DC directed the officers of concerned department to identify, protect and upgrade these water bodies. While taking the review of preparedness of PDD in views of summer season,

The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers to inspect the buffer stock available, installation of transformers and how much stock is need to streamline the uninterrupted power supply in the district. He stressed upon the concerned officers of PDD to gear up their field staff and machinery to augment power scenario in the district.

He also directed the officers to keep check on bottlenecks, if any, to provide regular power supply to the people at peak season in order to avoid inconvenience to them. Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the procedure and status of loan distribution to the beneficiaries identified during Back to Village program.

The DC was appraised by the concerned officer that 680 beneficiaries were identified during the B2V program and distribution of loan is at different stages.

The DC instructed the concerned officer to expedite the procedure of loan distribution to the beneficiaries so that they can begin their startups and earn their livelihood.

ADC (Adm) Satish Kumar Sharma, CPO Yoginder Katoch, ACD Amit Vermani, DPO Sunaina Saini, MD DIC, Sudha Mehta, besides senior officers from, KVIB, DIC, PDD were present in their respective meetings.
