Div Com reviews Eid-ul-Azha arrangements in Srinagar


SRINAGAR, Sep 02:  Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting of officers to review the arrangements to be put in place on the eve of Eid ul Azha.

The Divisional Commissioner stressed upon the concerned authorities to keep the sacrificial animals available at various locations in Srinagar city. These include Kaka Sarai Maidaan Pora, Magarmal Bagh, Eidgah, Soura, Bohri Kadal, Jamia Masjid, Hazratbal, Rainawari near Zindshah Masjid, Nishat near parking, Barzulla near Bridge, Rawalpora and Tengpora Batamalo Chowk.

The Divisional Commissioner was informed that the checking squads have been constituted for market checking  to prevent illegal profiteering and hoarding of essential commodities.

Mr. Baseer directed Animal Husbandry department to keep Sheep, Goats and Poultry birds available on reasonable rates at all sale centres so that the people do not face any inconvenience.

Directing the concerned for providing adequate potable water, uninterrupted power supply, health and transport facilities to the people, the Divisional Commissioner also asked the concerned for maintaining proper sanitation around the Mosques and Eid Gahs during the festival.

The Deputy Commissioners of all districts of the valley participated in the meeting through the video conferencing. The Deputy Commissioners were asked to identify the locations in their respective districts and keep the sacrificial animals available to the public.

Among others, the meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Chief Engineers of UEED, PDD, PWD PHE, SP Srinagar, Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, MD SRTC, Chairman WAKF Board besides other concerned officers of various departments.
