Bali Bhagat announces CT scan facility for District hospital Reasi


REASI, Sep 02: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today inaugurated the newly constructed campus building of Auxiliary (Ancillary) Nurse Midwifery Training (ANMT) School here in main town.           

Minister of State for Finance, Planning, IT, Law, Justice, CA&PD, Relief and Rehabilitation, Labour and Employment Ajay Nanda, besides Deputy Commissioner Reasi Ravinder Kumar, Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Baljeet Singh Pathania, SSP Sujit Kumar, ADC Shiv Kumar Gupta, ASP Sanjay Singh, CMO Dr. L.D Bhagat and district officers of various departments were also present at the inaugural function.         

Completed at an estimated cost of Rs 2.30 Crore, the ANMT building has been constructed under Centrally Sponsored Scheme – ‘Upgradation -Strengthening of State Nursing Services’. The complex consists of main school building and hostel facility in the first floor.  The campus is spread over an area of 11 kanal and 20 marlas of land. Besides the main campus building, there is also provision for external facilities like head over tank, external disposal system, internal roads etc.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the ANMT School would be made fully functional by immediately starting training classes for multipurpose workers.         

While stressing on the rationalization of staff, the Minister said that he has been working on it and would ensure that each health institution has sufficient number of medicos and paramedics.

Later, the Minister also visited Government Hospital Reasi and inspected the casualty ward, Dental section and other wards of the hospital. The Minister informed that the facility of blood bank would be started very soon in the hospital. He also announced a CT scan machine and a new ambulance for the hospital.

Elaborating on the measures taken for improvement of patient care in districts, he said special focus is being laid to upgrade facilities in the hospitals in newly created districts.  The Minister said that to provide best possible medical facilities to the common masses was top priority of the government.

On his return, the Minister visited Community Health Centre, Katra and took stock of its functioning and facilities provided to patients. The Minister went around different sections and interacted with the staff and patients.    

The Minister also directed the Director Health Services to appoint a doctor at Health Centre Ransoo.
