KATHUA, Sep 01 : A team of Legal Metrology Department Kathua under the supervision of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Jaideep Singh Sambyal imposed a fine of Rs. fifteen thousand on LPG dealer namely M/S Vimal Gas Agency Kathua for overcharging on sale of domestic cylinders at Kathua.
The team also booked the dealer following complaints from consumers regarding overcharging and poor home delivery in the town.
Assistant Controller directed the dealers to ensure that their mobile numbers are displayed prominently outside sale outlets besides wide publicity of the same through print media. He also directed the dealer to educate people regarding PDT (Preferred Delivery Time) system.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Controller appealed the public to register their complaints with the office of Legal Metrology so that anti-consumer practices can be curbed.
