Training of officers on Juvenile Justice Act organized by District Police Jammu in collaboration with NDF


JAMMU, Jan 15: Today on 15-01-2021, District Police Jammu in Collaboration with National Development Foundation, J&K, Jammu organized training of Special Juvenile Police Units/SHO's/Juvenile Police Officers/Investigating Officers on JJ Act 2015, Rules 2016 at Conference Hall, District Police Line Jammu.

Training programme was inaugurated by Sh. Manish K. Sinha, IPS, IGP Crime Hqrs. Jammu, while SSP Jammu Sh. Shridhar Patil, IPS and Sh. Rajiv Khajuria Founder Emeritus NDF Jammu were the guest of honour. A large number of Police officers attended the training programme. Mr.Vikram Srivastava from I-thought Delhi was the resource person who imparted specialized training to the officers. 

Mr. Rajiv Khajuria Founder Emeritus NDF welcomed the Chief guest and officers and gave a brief introduction of the child protection objectives of JJ Act. He briefed the house about the right to survival, development, protection and participation rights of the children apart from giving an overview of the JJ Act. 

Mr. Shridhar Patil SSP Jammu in his address called upon the Police officers to exhibit highest sense of sensitivity and responsibility. He asked officers to treat the victims just like they are their on children and follow do's and don'ts of Juvenile Justice Act while interacting with the children and in the matters related to children. He asked the officers to avail the opportunities for proper understanding of the Juvenile Justice Act. 

Mr. Manish K.Sinha, IGP Crime in his address complimented the initiative of District Police Jammu and National Development Foundation Jammu for organizing training of child protection and Juvenile Justice. He briefed that since police is the first contact of children either in need of care and protection they need to be extra sensitive in their approach towards children.
