Kathua, Nov 21: Questioning intention of the Returning Officer, Congress Party leader and candidate for District Development Council from Dinga Amb, Pinky Devi today condemned the attitude of officers who did not accept her nomination papers from the constituency in Kathua district.

Devi accused the Returning Officer for ignoring the authority letter of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee, President; G.A. Mir sahab in which she was authenticated as the actual candidate from Dinga Amb of DDC constituency.

“We have also submitted the Pradesh Congress Party President’s letter alongwith the nomination papers, but the returning officer has deliberately ignored my nominations to support the first candidate whose candidate stands cancelled,” said Devi.

The Congress candidate, Pinky Devi said that the Returning Officer has been playing a partial role under the influence to favour a candidate using his authority.

She appealed to the Election Commission for intervention so that the deserving candidate can be accepted as contesting candidate and the returning officer was replaced from the place because of his biased approach.
