Amit leads eGov Emerging Technologies Session at Express Technology


Pune, Aug 6, 2016: During on the ongoing 20 th edition of Express Technology Sabha at Pune, Amit Sharma, Managing Director, J&K State Industries Development Corporation led from the front in leading a crucial session of Emerging Technologies in e-Governance in a panel discussion comprising of heterogenous group of experts of the domain in a jam-packed learned gathering comprising of bureaucrats, technology experts, corporate haunches, PSU heads and media experts. It is worthwhile to mention here that this version of Express Technology Sabha was inaugurated by Chander Parkash Ganga, Industries and Commerce Minister of J&K wherein he also gave awards to the innovative e-Governance initiatives taken across the board in the nation yesterday evening.

MD, J&K SIDCO Amit Sharma led and moderated this all-important session on Emerging Technologies for Effective e-Governance wherein he emphatically kept the discussion around the goal of making the life of a common citizen easier with usage of various e-Governance tools. He mentioned that the basic purpose of introducing various e-Governance interventions should be to reach the last mile user and citizen who is hardly technology-driven but still can make the best use of e-Governance tools through usage of most simplified versions on mobile telephones or voice- interactive responses.

Other co-panelists endorsed these views and they quoted several examples to elaborate upon this idea of panel discussion leader MD J&K SIDCO Amit Sharma like Sandip Garg, Commissioner, Income Tax, Maharashtra talked about heading towards creating interoperable solutions for helping the tax-payers, Dr Saurabh Gupta, SIO, NIC, Uttar Pradesh talked about recent successfully held panchayat elections using online tools, Golok Kumar Simli, Principal Consultant & Head Technology, Passport Seva, MEA, GoI talked about Internet of Things model as future of e-Gov, Saadut Hussain, CEO, JaKeGA & OSD to J&K CM talked about adaptation and modifying of MMP models for states like J&K and Nagaland as per prevailing conditions, S.K Hudda, Director, Economics & Statistics, Gujarat talked about Data Analytics to be used as a major tool of e-Gov, Piyush Somani, CEO ESDS Software Solution Pvt Ltd shared his views on using latest e-Gov tools for simplifying and bringing transparency in Government functioning.

At the conclusion of this power-packed panel discussion, MD J&K SIDCO Amit Sharma summed-up the ideas shared by all panelists and concluded that such brain- storming sessions are the need of the hour as e-Governance initiatives are already reaching an advanced stage and data integration & authentication through usage of Aadhaar UID as a common database for making e-Governance a success rather than working in silos which creates more confusion & data duplication. The house applauded the panel discussion and all the panelists thanked Express Technology Sabha for giving a common platform to technology experts from all across the nation to gather and deliberate upon the latest value-editions happening in e-Governance domain.
