DDC Ramban Reviews Performance Of RDD

           RAMBAN, August 03- District Development Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Aijaz convened a meeting to review the physical and financial achievements registered under various schemes of Rural Development department here today.

          ACD Ramban, G H Kripak while apprising the achievements under MGNREGA informed that under water conservation component 35 ponds and 20 catchment drains have been taken up in different blocks and after their completion other proposed works including bridle paths shall be executed.

          DDC directed the officers to speed up the process of utilization of funds allocated under various heads and stressed on creating sustainable assets having wider public utility. He said that focus should be laid on environment protection, empowering rural women, reducing migration to urban areas and fostering social equity.

          DDC also exhorted upon the field functionaries to generate awareness about the RDD programmes especially Swachh Bharat Mission in coordination with other departments to make the people aware about sanitation and cleanliness.

          He asked the BDOs to propose income generating community halls which can be jointly shared by the panchayats for local functions.

          DDC also stressed on taking requisite measures for solid waste management. The locals should be motivated for segregating bio-degradable and non-bio degradable wastes before its disposal, he maintained.
