BANDIPORA, June 15: District Development Commissioner Bandipora Ravinder Kumar ,today launched a sustained community outreach programme titled “HIFAZAT-Bandipora Fights Back COVID-19” aiming at creating mass awareness in community about the Do’s and Dont’s to prevent spread of COVID19.
Addressing a News Conference, DC Bandipora said with gradual ease in lockdown restrictions and recent surge of 100 cases in last 10 days have led us for sustained awareness efforts on COVID-19 with the community participation at grassroot level in the District, as a precautionary measure for prevention of Community Transmission of COVID-19.
The district administration has devised a 14-point strategy that shall involve community leaders, NGOs and government departments to create awareness and sensitize people about the COVID19.
The district administration formed 120, Corona Action Teams(CAT) at Panchayat level with PRI representatives, Lumberdars, Asha workers and Anganwari workers , VLW,GRS as its members and shall be responsible for creating awareness at grassroots level on usage of masks/ Hand-Sanitizers, Regular Hand-Wash & adhering to Social Distancing norms. They shall also distribute IEC material like Pamphlets/ installation of Banners, etc.
During the campaign, the DIC Bandipora shall also broadcast messages from prominent personalities (Sports/ Religious/ Academic/ Civil Service/ Civil Society, etc.) on daily basis besides dissemination of various IEC material, announcements through PAS, Checking/Rebutting of Fake News on COVID-19, Daily Media Briefing and programms on TV/ Radio.
