Rana assails PDP-BJP for Plunging J&K into crisis

NAGROTA, July 12: National Conference Provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana on Tuesday blamed PDP-BJP combine for plunging Jammu and Kashmir into crisis like situation due to inherent contradictions within the coalition and lack of political vision.

“During past one and a half year, the wheels of development have jammed and the era of peace, dawned due to sustained efforts of National Conference, shattered thus exposing people to miseries and insecurity”, Mr Rana said while interacting with residents of Bajalta and Upper Kanna Chargal Panchayats this afternoon.

Mr Rana expressed concern over difficult situation under which the state is passing through and said the economic activity has come to standstill and the security of people remains in jeopardy.

“In such a situation, the government seems to be clueless how to restore normalcy”, he said while expressing sympathies with all those who have suffered in recent days. He asked the coalition partners, especially the BJP to shun blame-game and instead introspect over its failures. He said the BJP has not only betrayed people by shirking its responsibilities as a partner in the government but also adopting provocative posturing to further ignite the situation.

The Provincial President assailed the BJP for showing immense degree of sensitivity towards tourists and pilgrims stranded at various places, saying the government is not to be seen anywhere. He hoped the return of peace and normalcy soon, which he described imperative for a sensitive like Jammu and Kashmir.

Referring to developmental scenario in the Nagrota Assembly Constituency, the MLA said he has been consistently endeavouring to carry forward the tempo of development by pursuing the implementing agencies. He, however, regretted over damages caused to infrastructure, private property and loss of life due to recent rains and high speed winds, and said restoration of these works needed priority attention.

He reiterated that development of the constituency is his cherished mission, which will be accomplished with support of the people. “Focussed development will remain a distant dream unless the people continue to give their vital inputs on the needs and requirements of various areas”, he maintained.(Agencies)
