Bandipora 24 April:Bandipora police on specific information arrested two persons namely Nisar Ahmad lone R/o Check Rashipora Bandipora & Ab Rashid Akhoon R/o Gurez at present Sonarwani, Bandipora who were indulging in circulating & using Fake Indian currency notes as genuine in the different areas of Bandipora by mixing them with the original notes.
Acting swiftly a police party of Police station Bandipora swung into action and arrested both the accused persons and seized counterfeit currency notes worth Rs. 10,000 of 500 denomination from them.
In this regard Case FIR No.40 /2020 U.S 489 B, 420 IPC stands registered in PS Bandipora and stringent sections of UAPA act is added against the accused. Further investigation is going on.
General public is requested to come forward with complaint if they notice any circulation of Fake currency notes.
