Jammu ; Feb 13: The Interim State President of National Students' Union of India (NSUI) Mehran Anjum Mir held a huge protest at press club Jammu with severals of youth who are allegedly misled and exploited by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
Mehran said that the government had launched a scheme under which youth will be given skill development training, accommodation and job placement, all free of cost. This project sponsored by the Govt was supposed to be executed by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
But, unfortunately, thousands of youth who were enrolled for different courses have been mistreated, mislead and exploited by the National Skill Development Corporation.
These trainees were taken to Delhi on the pretext of training for Operation Theatre (OT) but these candidates were forced to sweep toilets and bathrooms. They were mistreated, misled and exploited. Candidates said that no training was given to them and there is no hope for job placement.
It is necessary to mention here that most of these youth belong to militancy-affected areas of J&K. The Govt had launched this scheme to bring them in the mainstream and serve their family and people but these protesting candidates led by Mehran Anjum Mir said that they have been cheated.
Mehran urged the authorities that their grievances be listened and justice be given to them and if the demands are not met, state wide protests will be started against the authorities.
