J&K seen highest number of sacrifices on borders; Davinder Singh a black Sheep: Advisor Khan

JAMMU, JANUARY 14: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan today said that Jammu and Kashmir has seen the highest number of sacrifices of soldiers on country’s borders and also while fighting insurgency in its hinterland.

The Advisor made these remarks while paying homage to war veterans, at Balidhan Stambh here today on the occasion of Armed Forces Veterans Day. The day is observed to mark the respect and recognition of the services rendered by Field Marshal KM Cariappa– the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces who retired on 14 Jan 1953.

Advisor Khan said the day is an acknowledgment of selfless sacrifices of all the soldiers who safeguard boundaries and also fight different insurgencies in the country.

 

“A soldier gives his everything during his service and as a nation our duty is to respect and salute his sacrifice which he has given for safeguarding our boundaries and by securing our lives. The day is to acknowledge and honour the selfless devotion and sacrifice of the veterans in the service of the nation,” Advisor Khan said in his speech.

 

While speaking to reporters after the function,  Farooq Khan, advisor to J&K Lt Guv called DSP Dalvinder Singh  a black sheep and at the same time  congratulated the J&K police for ‘exposing’ him.
