JAMMU, DECEMBER 08: Jammu and Kashmir Sports Taekwondo Association today organised Taekwondo Examination Championship during which students were awarded with certificates and honours.
The speakers, who attended the concluding ceremony, exhorted upon the parents and civil society to inculcate the spirit of sports in their children for preparing them to lead a better social life. They said that such events boost the spirit of self-defense besides developing leadership qualities among the talented players.
Director Information and Public Relations, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, who was Chief Guest on the occasion, emphasized the importance of sports in the lives of students for their overall personality development.
She said that sports activities must be seen as important as education for physical, emotional and mental growth of a student.
Director lauded the efforts of the parents for encouraging their children to take part in sports activities, which is a great way of disciplining the younger generation.
As many as, 156 students from 12 schools of Jammu district took part in the Taekwondo Examination Championship.
Pushpinder Singh Charat and Kuldeep Singh were the guests of honour while Moksha Abrol was the special guest on the occasion.
