DDC Pulwama visits snow affected areas, takes stock of post snowfall situation

PULWAMA, NOVEMBER 09: District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer along with the team of officers today conducted an extensive tour of various areas of district and   took stock of post snowfall situation including snow clearance, connectivity, restoration of power, damage to orchards, water supply, availability of ration and other essential commodities.

Executive Engineer, R&B, Executive Engineer PDD, Tehsildar Rajpora, officers of Health, FCS&CA and other departments accompanied the DDC.

During the tour, DDC visited Babhar, Bellow, Drabgam, Qasbyaar, Shadimarg and Rajpora where locals apprised him about the problems being faced by them amid harsh weather conditions.

DDC inspected the sale depot of FCS&CA at Babhar and inquired about the stock position of ration here. He visited Drabgam Hospital, inspected Govt Allopathic Dispensary Shadimarg where he inquired about the stock of essential medicines and Health care facilities being provided to the patients. He directed BMO to ensure medical facilities at the dispensary and other arrangements so that patients can’t suffer during harsh weather conditions.

DDC said that all major roads in the district have been cleared, while in higher areas men and machinery is on job to make the roads through for the general public. Regarding restoration of electricity, DDC said that due to heavy snow fall, major HT, LT lines and poles were damaged and PDD department is working on war foot basis for restoration of electricity. He said that there is sufficient stock of essential commodities including LPG, ration, medicines and drugs in the district.

He impressed upon officers to remain available for the public for early redressal of their grievances.
