SRINAGAR, JUNE 04: In order to ensure that the appeals in State cases are filed in time and remedy available to the State for filling of appeal is not lost due to expiry of limitation period, Minister for Law and Justice Mr. Abdul Haq has ordered an enquiry to fix responsibility of the officers/officials of Power Development Department for not filling appeal in time in LPA No.157 of 2003 titled State Vs Farooq Ahmad dated June 08, 2015.
Special Secretary Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Mr. Muzaffar Ahmed Wani has been appointed inquiry officer. The inquiry officer has been asked to submit the report within one month.
It may be recalled the Minister had instituted a similar inquiry five days ago about the lapse in filing Government’s response in a case pertaining to Social Welfare Department.
