Awareness cum interactive session organised by MVD Jammu under RTO Jammu


Jammu, 15 October: An awareness cum interactive session was organised today by Motor Vehicles Department Jammu in coordination with management of  JK Public School Jammu at the school campus. RTO Jammu Sh Dhananter Singh, KAS chaired the session which was attended  Shafqat Majeed, KAS ARTO (BOI) Jammu, Rajeev Kundal, MVI and Gurmeet Singh Bali, MVI.  Director of JK Public School, Jammu Smt Shashi Chowdhary organised the event in which students, teachers, staff members, transport in charge of the school.

RTO Jammu Sh Dhananter Singh, KAS  awared the students /participants about  Motor Vehicles Department. He apprised the participants about various aspects of road safety measures and  shared the data of road accidents caused due to negligent driving and other reasons. He informed that more than 1.5 lakh people lose their lives and about 6 lakh injured  due to road accidents every year in India. Whereas on an average about 1000 die and 6000 injured due to accidents every year in J&K State.  RTO Jammu also informed the participants about all the recent amendments and changes that came into force w.e.f 01.09.2019  in Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

Earlier, Shafqat Majeed, ARTO informed the students and school staff about road safety measures and the standard conditions required especially for school buses. He organised a question-answer session with the students about general knowledge of traffic rules. Sh. Gurmeet Singh Bali, MVI gave a detailed presentation about the procedure required for availing various  services like Driving License and  Registration Certificate, etc.

Smt Shashi Chowdhary, Director of the school also informed the gathering about Road safety measures and expressed her gratitude about the information shared by the officials of Motor Vehciles Department Jammu. She thanked RTO Jammu and his team for making the students aware about the road safety measures and Motor Vehicles Act/Rules.
