Speech by Ghulam Nabi Azad was a bluff on the facts of J&K: Bhim SIngh

JAMMU, July 02:  “The one-hour oration of Rajya Sabha Opposition Leader, Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad was a bluff on the facts and the circumstances that kept the State of J&K under the dark clouds governed by the Congress and its partners in the past”, NPP Supremo Prof.Bhim Singh in a statement issued this morning called on all the political activists, intellectuals, journalists and all to read the history of J&K right from day one when the Maharaja of J&K acceded to the Union of India on October 27, 1947. Alas! the leadership today born after 1947 has not studied the relevant documents leading to the circumstances before and after the accession of J&K was signed by the J&K Ruler. Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad who happens to be a lucky person, to be the leader of the opposition of the Rajya Sabha in India was born in 1949. He regretted the generation which was born after the State Accession of J&K has not cared to go through the contents of the history of J&K.

The Maharaja of J&K acceded to the Union when J&K Army called ‘J&K Infantry’ under Maharaja’s Generalship lost almost all 10,000 army while fighting the aggressors who invaded J&K on October 19, 1947. Every soldier of J&K fought to the full, sacrificed their lives in defense of their motherland. It was on October 10, 1947 that the Maharaja requested the Govt. of India and Prime Minister Nehru for military support to defend the State of J&K from wrath of the aggressors. The Indian Army reached Kashmir on October 21, 1947 morning boarded in first Dakota flight from New Delhi to Srinagar. This help India sent by the approval of the then Governor-General of India, Lord Mountbatten after signing the Instrument Accession.
NPP Supremo regretted that a Congress leader in the Rajya Sabha took one-hour to recite his speech yet he failed to find a word in appreciation of the J&K Army which had lost almost 90% of J&K Army in war against the aggressors to save J&K. The Congress leader may not have studied the history of J&K which had developed in his state before he was born. NPP Supremo expressed surprise on the ignorant demonstrated by the Congress leader who happened to be from the family of a highly educated and secular educationist in Jammu province namely, Shri Ghulam Rasool Azad who had taken care of the education of Shri Ghulam Nabi. It was this Azad whose name was borrowed by Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad.

Prof.Bhim Singh regretted the contents of his speech in Rajya Sabha who described Shri Jawaharlal Nehru as one of the Heroes for Kashmir Accession to India along with Sheikh Abdullah. NPP Supremo wonders which kind of democracy in J&K has been kept intact by Sheikh Abdullah’s party or the Congress Party where he (Bhim Singh) was elected as MLA of the Congress in 1977 and expelled from the party in 1981 for opposing Sheikh Abdullah and National Conference which wanted all those who had migrated to Pakistan in 1947 with their descendants to return to J&K and claim their lost property and land. Prof.Bhim Singh had resigned from the J&K Assembly a year in advance to oppose the National Conference, Congress Law allowing the return of those who have migrated to Pakistan. It was at that this stage Bhim Singh from the Assembly and founded ‘J&K National Panthers Party’ which stands for one Nation, one Constitution with Fundamental Rights for all Indians from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

Prof.Bhim Singh wondered on the silence of all Members of Rajya Sabha, may be Modi ji had given instructions to digest all what Congress says because Congress is in a majority in Rajya Sabha and Modi needed their support for ensuring the J&K Bill on continuation of President’s Rule in the state.

Prof.Bhim Singh wondered that Ghulam Nabi Azad describing in his Rajya Sabha speech Jawaharlal Nehru and Sheikh Abdullah as heroes of Kashmir (not Jammu & Kashmir) Accession. Forgetting that it was J&K, Kashmir was only a region comprising of about 14,000 sq kms. out of State’s territory of 84,000 sq.miles. Was Maharaja Hari Singh less hero than Ghulam Nabi Azad’s hero vis-à-vis Accession of J&K with the rest of the country.
