
LEH, JUNE 7: The Deputy Commissioner / CEO LAHDC Leh Avny Lavasa today launched ‘Project Tsangda’ at Hunder in Nubra valley.
Councillor Hunder Kunzang Lotus, Sub Divisional Magistrate Nubra Sonam Norboo, Incharge BDO Diskit Ibrahim, Sarpanch, Panch, owner of Camps and people in large number were present on the occasion.
Addressing the function, DC Leh said that the Project Tsangda is already a successful project being implemented by Rural Development Department which was started in December 2017 in Choglamsar and later replicated at Diskit, Khalti, Nimoo keeping in the mind the urgent need of garbage management in Leh district in a scientific way.
DC Leh stressed on the importance of cleanliness and said that cleanliness is the basic requirement in sectors like tourism, health and education and appealed people to come forward in maintaining the hygiene of their village.
Urging people, hoteliers and camp owners for their full cooperation in implementation of Project Tsangda, DC Leh said that without the support of local people government functionaries will never achieve desired targets.
Guest of Honour, Councillor Kunzang Lotus appreciating the initiative taken by the DC, Leh appealed people for their unconditional support and cooperation and thanked everyone involved in the project.
