DDC Udhampur  convenes public meetings at Khoon, Sundla, Charawa, Darsoo

 

UDHAMPUR, MAY 08 - District Development Commissioner Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today organised public meetings at Khoon, Darsoo, Sundla and Charwa under outreach programme for participatory planning and grievance redressal where thousands of people from more than 12 panchayats participated.     

During public meeting at Sundla, DDC discussed various issues of 5 panchayats and directions were given to concerned authorities for the construction of roads at Bainsar, Amuwala, Omara, Darkala, Nakki and Balpur. Similarly new water conservation and harvesting structures for Balpur and Dodu were also sanctioned. Creation of 2 KVA station at Bainsar, WSS from Baisar to Basantar, Basantar to Dogain were finalised under Convergence Plan. DDC also directed for shifting BDO office to IWDP building after immediate repairs for public convenience.

At Charawa, it was decided for providing Model Mobile School for nomads, new Transformer and creation of 25KVA station for power supply, solar lights for migratory families, water supply scheme and upgradation of roads. AD CAPD was asked for providing advance ration for nomads. General public appreciated the holding of camps for issuance of PRCs on spot in villages.

Two largely attended public meetings were also held at Darsoo and Khoon. Issues related to strengthening of rural infrastructure, additional water supply, checking power pilferage, proper ration distribution, modernising of schools and improvising essential services were also discussed during the meetings.

DDC briefed about various developmental initiatives taken by the state government and asked the people to come forward for participatory planning which has been constantly strengthened during last one year and general public has been involved in Planning, Implementation and Monitoring of all developmental and welfare schemes. He called for greater coordination and vigilance among all stakeholders. Citing Project Rahat as an amazing successful example of participatory planning and execution, he outlined next priorities for water supply, tourism, rural roads and water harvesting under convergence of schemes and technical expertise as well as local knowledge base.
