C stresses for updation, preservation of vital revenue records;Chairs review meeting of Revenue Department


KATHUA, May 07:  District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, on Saturday exhorted upon the officers to maintain all the revenue records with timely updation besides ensuring preservation of old records with modern digital techniques.

The DC, while chairing a review meeting of Revenue Department, had a detailed first hand appraisal of working of the department. 

 During the meeting, the DDC called for expediting the land identification and acquisition cases under projects like establishment of Nirbhaya centre at Kathua, construction of office building for drugs and flood control, establishment of permanent composite regional centre(CRS),establishment of 100 MV solar power project, construction of 20X20 MVA, 132/33 KV grid station at Basohli, IT park at Kathua so that work on these ambitious projects could be started soon.

While reviewing implementation of services provided under Public Service Guarantee Act, he directed revenue officials to ensure transparency and time bond delivery of services to people. He instructed them to put up a display board outside their offices detailing numbers and kind of applications received under the Act and other applications with date of disposal on daily basis.      

Giving a strong message to revenue officials working in the field, DC said that all the Tehsil heads will be responsible for any delay, be it on part of sub-ordinates in the field. He stressed upon the Tehsildars to ensure that all the Patwaris shall be present at their respective Patwar Khanas atleast on two notified days in a week.           

In a move to make the functioning of newly created revenue units viz Niabats, Tehsils and Sub-Divisions more effective, the DDC directed revenue officers Tehsildars/SDM’s to submit the proposal for capacitating the infrastructure for onward submission.

To keep a check on the menace of encroachment on the roads and streets in township areas, DDC gave directions to revenue officers to conduct a joint drive to evacuate and relocate the displaced vendors. 

The DDC also reviewed the action taken on the last meeting’s agenda  related to revenue matters which include land acquisition cases, encroachments, Jamabandi, PRC, Relief Cases, Mutations, Giradawri’s and other revenue  matters. He instructed the Tehsildars to personally visit the field areas to bring transparency in the working of revenue department. He asked the revenue officers to submit the work done progress report of their respective areas to his office timely.

Among others ACR Kathua Atul Gupta, AC(UT) Rahul Yadav, SDM’s, Tehsildar’s, Naib Tehsildar attended the meeting.
