Avail benefits of various welfare schemes: Kohli

 Rajouri, May 05- Underlining the commitment of the government for socio-economic development of rural pockets, Minister for Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Choudhary Abdul Ghani Kohli said remote belts are getting focused attention and work on the road map to upgrade infrastructure in these belts is going on at fast pace. He said exemplary development initiatives have been taken up and focused attention is being paid to equip these areas with all required basic infrastructure.          

"Encouraging support from the central Government  in funding different projects in the state has resulted  in launching  of mega infrastructure  developmental projects in all regions and sub regions  of the state thus ensuring  equitable  development" , he added.        

He was addressing a large public gathering at Dhangri and Seva Gheri, Rajouri. 

The Minister was accompanied by Vice-Chairperson Pahari Advisory Board, Kuldeep Raj Gupta during his visit. 

The Minister while addressing the gathering  asked  the people to  come forward  and avail the maximum  benefits of the various  welfare schemes  and programmes being undertaken by the government so they would be exhibiting a participatory  role which is very  essential  for ensuring equitable development  of the area besides they would also be providing the requisite  feedback about the implementation and the steps needed to be taken to ensure successful execution of these developmental projects.  "The   schemes being undertaken have a tremendous potential of changing the socio-economic profile of the people", he added.         

Referring to "Beti Bachaoo Beti Padhao", Kohli underscored the need for greater awareness among the masses about the scheme and the requirements needed to be fulfilled to avail the maximum benefits. He urged all sections of the society to undertake rigorous door to door campaign to explain the people about the danger of the female foeticide besides emphasized urgent need of sensitizing clinicians about discouraging the practice of the prenatal gender determination and asked the authorities to deal firmly with any such complaint under law.         

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Mumtaz Choudhary, Assistant Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Noor Alam, Executive Engineer, PDD, PHE besides sectoral officers were also present on the occasion.
