S. Sidartha Paramedical Training Institute, Sunjwan, Jammu

JAMMU, APRIL 28: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari has directed the Revenue Department functionaries to ensure effective implementation of Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA). He also called for strictly adhering to the timeline for submission of the requisite information under PSGA.

The Minister instructed the concerned higher ups in the Departments under his charge to issue directions to all the Deputy Commissioners to formulate quarterly targets for the activities covered under PSGA and submit progress report to the government towards the end of every month.

“It has been observed that the monthly progress reports on account of implementation of PSGA are not being submitted by the subordinate offices under Revenue Department to the government within the stipulated time”, the Minister said and added consequently, the consolidation and analysis of such reports gets delayed which, in turn, adversely affects the effective implementation of the Act.

Reviewing the implementation of PSGA in a meeting here today, the Revenue Minister exhorted upon the officers to evolve a system in the department, where a common man will not suffer for want of certain services envisaged under PSGA.

The Minister said besides ensuring proper implementation of PSGA, a grievance cell would be established in Revenue Secretariat to look into the public complaints and grievances.

Revenue Minister asked the officers to ensure that a movement registry is put in place at every Halqa, Tehsil and DC office, recording the movement of Tehsildars and their support staff, so that claimants shall not have to move from the pillar to post to obtain various services. He asked them to notify the locations of all the Patwar Halqas for information and convenience of people.
