JKPCC lashed out at PDP-BJP Govt. for failing to resolve PHE workers agitation ; Water supply system in most rural areas collapsed  


 

JAMMU, Apr 25 : Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress committee has expressed serious concern over the continued agitation of the daily wagers, causal workers, CP workers, Need based workers of PHE ,irrigation, flood control and different other department for the past one and half months due to failure of State Government to address their genuine demands, as a result the water supply system especially in rural areas has almost collapsed.  

In the statement JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma express deep concern over the attitude of the Govt. towards the working and the labor class who are not being paid regular wages for the last several months besides failure of the authorities to come up with their regularization policies within the time frame given by the government. He said that due to the long drawn agitation of the PHE workers of various category. Water supply system has almost collapsed especially in the rural areas of the state particular in Jammu region . He said that the authority maintaining water supply system in urban areas through permanent employs and tanker services etc but the PHE authorities have left the water supply system in the rural areas at the mercy of god without any alternate measures as a result the people are facing great hardship on account of drinking water facility.

JKPCC strongly criticized the attitude of neglect and indifferent towards the problems of basic necessity of the people owing to the failure of the Govt. to settle the genuine issue of the agitating workers within reasonable time and the failure of the Govt. to come out with the solution within the time schedule given to the agitating workers.

Sharma  during his visit in different rural areas noticed that several water supply which were being run by these agitating workers are Non- functional and water supply system has come to stand still but the Govt. and authorities are unmoved Mr. Sharma were also apprised by leaders of PHE workers namely Sh.  Pushker Raj Sharma ( President Consolidated workers Union Nowshera division ) , Khalid Hussian , Subash Chander,  Sham Lal , Ashok Kumar and others today that they have not been paid wages for last 33 months besides the implementation of the regularization policies assured to them by the government time to time.

Sharma urged the Govt. to immediately resolved the issues of agitating workers and restore the water supply scheme . which have become defunded due to agitation.
