Physical Education necessary for spiritual growth: DG YSS


PATNITOP, APRIL 17: Physical education not only nurture physique but also contributes in mental and spiritual growth enabling overall development of the student.

This was stated by Director General, Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Jahangir Mir, during the concluding function of 10-day annual Leadership Training Camp organized by Government College of Physical Education Ganderbal at Youth Hostel Patnitop yesterday evening.

The camp, which commenced on April 7, 2016, was participated by hundred students of the college.

The DG said that the holding of such camps immensely help further cementing of bonds of mutual harmony and brotherhood. He appreciated the trainers especially Principal Dr. Hartej Singh for organising the event in such an outstanding manner.

The DG said that the Government is keen to upgrade the infrastructure including introduction of concept of smart classes in the college.

During the camp, tracking from Patnitop to Sudmahadev and Patnitop to Sanasar Lake, picnic cum water sports meet, tracking leadership camp to Mansar lake, crafting, treasure hunt, camp activities and camp fire were organized.

Earlier, Principal of the College appreciated the role of Dr N.A Waza, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad and Dr Showkat Hussain besides other staff members for their whole hearted support in making the camp a grand success.

Later, Jangir Mir distributed prizes among the position holders.
