Zulfkar pitches for improving quality of education in rural areas; Inaugurates building of High School Sakri

RAJOURI, APRIL 16 - Stressing that education is a   right of every child, Minister for Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today called for taking adequate steps to improve the quality of education in government schools, especially in the far flung area so that no child is deprived of their right and there is no disparity in the opportunities available to them.

The minister said this after inaugurating the new building of Government High School Sakri in Kotranka, Rajouri. 

The Minister said that education holds the key to socio economic development of the people and priority should be on imparting   quality education to the students. He   said that people living in semi urban and rural areas have limited means and options for acquiring education.Their resources are limited to Government Schools and it is our duty to ensure that best possible facilities are made available to them adding that the staff at government schools is highly qualified and well trained and therefore should produce better results from their private counterparts. He impressed upon education authorities to fill all posts of teachers in rural areas so that students do not suffer due to inadequate staff.

Zulfkar instructed the concerned officers of education department to ensure completion of construction work for all pending buildings of the department in Khawas, Peeri, Budhal, Kotranka and Darhal area in a timebound manner. The Minister appreciated the concerned officers of PWD for constructing the building in a timebound manner and impressed upon them to complete other developmental works with efficiency adhering to the set timelines.

People thanked the minister for his efforts for taking up the construction of the new building of High School Sakri  which will benefit  a large number of  students of the area.

Later, the Minister accompanied by officers of district administration also listened to various grievances of people from the area and assured early redressal of the same.

Assuring an efficient public distribution system for the people, Zulfkar said that food is a basic right of the people and every registered person is entitled to receive ration and if any identified beneficiary is denied of the right, he shall be given a food security allowance. Minister said that present government has introduced the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme which will benefit 80,000 poor people of the state. He said that under  NFSA, every individual was entitled to get 5 kg ration per soul but the government has given relief to the poor people by adding 5 kg per soul in new Food scheme’’, he said adding that before implementation in the state, all Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to correct the errors in data. ‘’I want 100 percent correct data. Lists should be prepared like voter lists before we go ahead for implementation of MMSFES’’, he added.
