Srinagar, Nov 2: For the post of Mayor two candidates filed their nomination while as for the post of Deputy Mayor similar number of candidates filed their nomination. The election for these two positions in the SMC is slated for November 6.

In accordance with the election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Municipal Corporation, Srinagar, Junaid Azim Mattu, councilor from ward numbers 14, 18 and 65 and Ghulam Rasool Hajam, councilor from ward number 30 have filed their nomination papers in SMC today for the post of Mayor.
For the post of Deputy Mayor, Sheikh Imran, councilor from ward number 2 and Mohammad Salaam Lone, councilor from ward number 58 have filed their nomination papers.
