Comm Commercial Taxes holds review meeting

          SRINAGAR, MARCH 22- Commissioner Commercial Taxes, J&K, Mr. Hilal Ahmad Parray today took a detailed review meeting at Commercial Taxes Complex, Solina. Additional Commissioner Commercial Taxes (Administration) Kashmir, Dr. Shamim Ahmad Wani presented the highlights of the performance of Kashmir Division during the current financial year.

          The Department has posted a growth of 17.24% in the tax revenue collection corresponding to the previous financial year. A total f Rs. 1166.27 crore as tax under J&K VAT Act, 2005 and J&K GST Act, 1956 have been realized, marking an increment of Rs. 171.48 crores year last year, which is expected to further increase by March closing.

          Commissioner Commercial Taxes stressed on achievement of revenue targets and timely completion f assessments and audit paras and also bringing more dealers in the tax net.

          Emphasizing on addressing the public grievances, the Commissioner impressed upon the Commercial Taxes Officers for hassle free resolution of issues faced by the traders.

          The meeting was also attended by Deputy Commissioner Commercial Taxes (Recovery/Vig. & Insp/Audit/Stamps & Appeals) and all Commercial taxes Officer of Kashmir Division.
