JAMMU, Mar 15: Chairman J&K Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali has thanked the Union Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar for responding to his request and ordering deployment of C-17 Aircraft for airlifting the stranded passengers of frontier district of Kargil and Leh.
This is for the first time that C17 Aircraft has been used to airlift stranded passengers.
Indian Air Force airlifted 773 stranded passengers with the help of C-17 Aircraft from Srinagar to Leh, Leh to Srinagar and Leh to Jammu.
