KATHUA, March 3 – District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar convened a meeting with EROs/AEROs regarding summary revision of Municipal Electoral Rolls for 2016 here today.
It was informed in the meeting that daft publication of electoral rolls will begin on March 4 and claims and objections can be filed from March 4 to 14. Disposal of claims and objections will begin from March 15 to 19. Preparation and printing of supplements of additions, deletions and corrections will be done on March 24 and electoral rolls will go for final publication on March 28.
DDC instructed the ERO`s/AERO`s to immediately convene a meeting of BLO`s and ensure that sufficient number of forms shall be made available to the them for filing claims, objections and corrections. Additions can be made on Form no. 3, deletion on Form no. 4 and corrections can be made on Form no. 5. He further directed AERO`s for 100 percent physical verification of all polling stations within their Municipal council/committee jurisdiction. He further directed that ERO/AERO`s shall ensure that there should be no duplication of data and rolls are error free.
For wide publicity regarding summary revision of Municipal Electoral Rolls, DDC said that ERO`s shall convene a meeting with the District President of all political parties to sensitize them regarding the process of summary revision and final publication of electoral process. He added that two special awareness camps shall be organized at every Polling station on March 6 and 13within the jurisdiction of Municipal Council/committee wherein all the BLO`s shall remain present in their respective polling stations with sufficient number of forms.
ACR , SDM Hiranagar , SDM Billawar , SDM Basholi ,PO ICDS , CEO LSDA , CEO MC Kathua and EO`s of various Municipal Committees were also present in the meeting.
