budget has failed to meet the expectations of the youth: GA Mir

JAMMU, Feb 29 :  The union budget  presented today lacks the direction to fulfill the promise of “Achee Din” to the common man besides creation of two crores job  opportunities annually to meet the challenge of employment to the youth, while the imposition of additional services tax would lead to price hike burdening further the poor and common man.

Reacting to the union budget the JKPCC Chief Mr. G.A Mir  has said that budget has failed to meet the  expectations of the youth,   the farmers , the low and middle income groups, salaried class as well as common man.  By not raising the existing tax slabs ,the more and more  middle income people particularly the salaried class would be subjected to tax net due to 7th pay commission.  Mr. Mir said that there is nothing new to meet the sufferings of the flood effected people , the refugees , Kashmiri migrants besides the assurances of smart cities and announcement of two AIIMS for the state.

He said that the promises of two crores jobs annually for the youth, the farmers who are facing hardships due to two consecutive bad monsoons and anti-farmers policies of the Modi Govt. and the promises of Achhe Din to common man, remained to the only rhetorics and there is no roadmap to meet the targets, in the third budget of the Modi Govt.

He said that Modi Government , after indulging in all kinds of false propagandas regarding the MGNREGA has realized the important of this scheme, Similarly the rural electrification scheme had only been remained from  RGVVY to DDU scheme and AIBP to PM sinchai scheme besides the skill development schemes for youth ,which was the vision of UPA Govt. , which shows that Modi has realized the need to follow the footsteps of UPA in this regard

Mir said that a lot was being expected for the state in this budget ,while nothing of this sort has been noticed , which has further dismayed the people of the state. Mr. Mir also sought clarification about the action taken with regard to the announcement of setting up of two AIIMS, as it has been only stated the State Govt. has identified  and provided the details of the “site” and the central teams have visited the sites in Jammu division. This questions the approach and the status of the announcement of  Two AIIMS for the state.

He said that benefits of the reduction of oil prices in the international market were never passed on the common man and the Govt. benefitted itself by collecting the excise duties while the common man continued to suffer due to all round price hike, which is bound to hike further by additional service tax in this budget.
