JAMMU: Prof.Bhim Singh, a Sr. Advocate & Human Rights Activist in the Supreme Court who has himself spent more than eight years in police detentions in J&K and in the rest of the country made a strong appeal to the Members of the Parliament from all corners of the country to take a non-governmental delegation to J&K to assess the situation in the state so that an appropriate and just intervention be ensured in the state to stop any further bloodshed, killings so that a goodwill of the people of J&K shall be evolved in the interest of security of the people and delivery of justice to all irrespective of their classes, professions or political involvement in the state.
Sending/deputing some outdated bureaucrats from the penal of Central government lists shall be futile exercise because the people in J&K are suffering because there is no governance in the state as the present rulers in J&K are operating only amass wealth and suppress the peace wanting people of the state whose forefathers had resisted in full with faith and conviction against the foreign invaders. The sacrifices of the people of J&K are on record. They raised the tri-colour flag in the Lal Chowk, Srinagar under the leadership of Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah in 1946. They stood for secular concept even when word ‘secularism’ was not incorporated in the Constitution of India. Doubting their sincerity, loyalty and commitment to democracy or secularism is a sad story which has been floated by the ruling groups in J&K supported and sponsored by New Delhi. This trend has to be changed.
Prof.Bhim Singh himself spent more than eight years in the prisons even when he was a Congress MLA in the state and after. Doubting young angry Kashmiri youth as foreign agents or terrorists is the mischievous plan of some power hungry leaders in the state who are being backed by foreign agencies.
Prof.Bhim Singh has urged the President of India for his urgent intervention as his only the constitutional authority by virtue of J&K Constitution as well as by Article 370 of the Indian Constitution who has power to intervene to take appropriate steps within the command the Constitution of J&K (J&K has separate Constitution approved by Govt. of India) also.
Prof.Bhim Singh appealed the Prime Minister to convene an urgent meeting of National Integration Council (NIC) which has representation of all the recognized political parties (including J&K National Panthers Party) to discuss two important subjects situation in J&K as well as present ongoing trouble in the northern states (Assam and others). He said that Prime Minister of India is ex-officio Chairman of NIC and this has representation of all recognized political parties from almost all regions of the country. J&K deserves immediate and fresh look of political groups and parliamentarians to regain the confidence of the people of J&K which the leadership in the country has been loosing fast.
NPP Supremo says bullets and violence are no solution to gain the confidence of the people of J&K. People of J&K have been suffering since 1947 the day Maharaja Hari Singh was forced to leave J&K by the Indian leadership in 1948 after he had sincerely, boldly and daringly signed the Instrument of Accession with the Union of India on 26thOctober, 1947. J&K deserves a cool breeze and not guns or bullets. People of J&K believe in peace, harmony, justice and equity like all other citizens in the country from Dwarka to Manipur. Dismissal present BJP-PDP Govt. & promulgation of Governor Rule is the only remedy which shall be welcomed by all from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
