
JAMMU, Feb 02: Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah on Friday demanded a high-level special investigation team to be set up to look into the Shopian incident.
Omar while speaking in J&K Assembly said "After Police filed FIR, now Army has filed a counter FIR. So we demand a high-level special investigation team should be constituted to look into Shopian matter."
Police filed an FIR against the personnel of the Army's 10 Garwal Unit under sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder).
On this the Army filed a counter-FIR into the matter.
Omar Abdullah also demanded compenstaion for Farooq Dar in the Human shield case.
Omar questioned the government how will they build confidence in people to participate in upcoming Panchayat poll.
BJP J&K State President Sat Sharma criticized Omar ABdullah for demanding compensation for Stone pelters.
Whereas Panthers party head Harshdev Singh said that Omar is backing anti National activities for political again.
