Jammu, Jan 09: Replying to the main question,The Minister of State for Technical Education and Tourism, Ms Priya Sethi informed the House that the Polytechnic College Poonch has been sanctioned under Centrally Sponsored Scheme Sub-Mission on Polytechnics under Coordinated Action for Skill Development at an estimated cost of Rs 13 crore including Rs 8 crore and Rs 5 crore as Central and State share respectively.
The Minister informed that the department has identified a patch of state land measuring 64 kanals and 1 marla at village Sathra and stands transferred to the concerned for construction of project. The construction work was entrusted to JKPCC which was supposed to be completed within 18 working months and was stopped due to litigation, she added.
