Chief Secretary chairs SLSMC meeting on Housing for All (Urban) Mission

 JAMMU, DECEMBER 26 : Chief Secretary, B B Vyas  Tuesday chaired the meeting of the State Level Sanctioning Cum Monitoring Committee (SLSMC) for implementing 'Housing for All' (HFA) Urban Mission in Jammu and Kashmir under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). 

 'Housing for All' Urban Mission is being implemented in all 78 Towns and the two capital cities of Srinagar and Jammu in two phases.

 In Phase-I, 23 Towns and two capital cities of Srinagar and Jammu were selected for receiving central assistance under PMAY. 37 DPRs covering 4917 beneficiaries with overall project cost of Rs 240. 38 crore were approved by the Union Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs. The work is already under implementation across various towns. In addition, 29 DPRs prepared for 19 cities/towns involving 4865 beneficiaries has also been approved by the Union Ministry in August, 2017.  

 It was further informed that the Union Ministry has conveyed approval for completion by housing demand survey and preparation of the Housing for All Plan of Action (HFAPoA) of remaining 55 towns to be taken up during the Phase-II (April 2017- March 2019) for which an amount Rs 346.50 Lakh has been sanctioned.

 For carrying out the housing demand survey and preparation of the HFAPoA in these 55 towns, SLTC’s/ CLTCs have been deployed to the districts and the survey shall be completed by 31st December, 2017.  

 The Committee also approved 31 DPRs prepared for 13 cities/towns of Kashmir Division and 11 cities/towns of Jammu division covering 5021 Economically Weaker Section (EWS) families. Chief Secretary emphasized on ensuring that construction work under the programme is made earthquake resistant.  

 It was informed that a total of 66277 beneficiaries have been identified in the state under PMAY-HFA (U) including 4583 under Slum Re-development component, 24523 under Credit Linked Subsidy, 6100 under Affordable Housing in Partnership and 31071 under Beneficiary led Construction with an overall financial involvement of Rs 4024.81 Crores.
