ARTO seizes two Buses, realizes Rs 7500 fine

UDHAMPUR, Jan 11: A surprise Naka at Jakhani Chowk Udhampur, 5:00 AM was laid to check violation of Motor Vehicle Act (MVA) as well as to keep check on transportation of goods by passenger vehicles.

        During checking, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Udhampur, Mr Rajesh Gupta seized two buses and challaned two buses for violating the MVA norms and an amount of Rs. 7500 was also realized as fine on spot.

         The ARTO warned commuters to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of MVA. He further added that strict action would be taken against the defaulters for any violation of MVA. He also asked the drivers and conductors of the passenger vehicles to wear uniforms during passenger transportation and not to carry goods in the passenger vehicles. He further added that Naka is a part of exercise initiated by the MVD against the defaulters and such activities will be continued in order to streamline traffic system in Udhampur.

Among others, officials of ARTO office were also present on the occasion.
