Kohli asks officers to promote Animal, Sheep and fisheries schemes for benefit of rural population


KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 14: Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli today said new initiatives have been taken up to promote Animal Sheep and fisheries for the benefit of population

The Minister said while inspecting a meadow camp at Minimarg during his four day tour to the Ladakh region. He was also accompanied by Executive Councilor Animal Husbandry Aga Sayed Hassan Armaan Mousvi , Deputy Commissioner Kargil Haji Gulzar Hussain, Director Animal Husbandry Muhmmad Yousuf Chaproo, Director Sheep Husbandry Muhammad Yousuf Sheikh, SSP Kargil and other officaisl.

Mr Kohli said that Government is committed to upgrade infrastructure in far off places so that they can be part of ongoing development in the state. He also said that various initiatives are afoot to develop state on the modern lines.

On the occasion officials informed the Minister under various programmes 400 Animal rearing units have been setup which has led to 10 percent increase in the overall population of animals. He was also informed that to further boost Livestock, two new proposals have been submitted under National Livestock Mission.

The Minister on the occasion stressed on giving wide publicity to various schemes so that maximum people are benefitted.

He also directed the officials of Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments to immediately start interviews for 125 class IV vacancies in the district.

Meanwhile various deputations called on the Minister during his Drass Visit and apprised him about the various confronting the area. The Minister assured them that all their genuine demands would be fulfilled.
