HYDERABAD, Nov 7: The Benami Prohibition Unit of the Income Tax Department has provisionally attached two houses, four parcels of agricultural land, and a luxury vehicle in connection with proceedings against suspended Telangana Deputy Superintendent of Police Sankireddy Bheem Reddy and his wife.
Investigators allege that these assets were acquired under benami arrangements in exchange for official favours extended during the officer’s tenure.
While the recorded value of the assets stands at Rs 59.4 lakh in official transaction deeds and valuation filings, tax authorities estimate their current market worth runs into several crores of rupees.
