Court rejects complaint of corruption against former Law Minister in Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 23: The Saket District Court dismissed a corruption complaint against former Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti and others, ruling that the case was not maintainable.

The complaint, filed by Sanjeev Saini, requested the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Judicial Magistrate First Class Bhanu Pratap Singh ruled that the court lacked jurisdiction over complaints under the Prevention of Corruption Act, stating, “This Court is of the view that the present application is not maintainable before this Court as this Court does not have jurisdiction over complaints under the Prevention of Corruption Act".

Accordingly, the present application stands dismissed.
