Chandigarh, Oct 23: The Bhagwant Mann Government in Punjab has granted special powers to Six Senior IPS officers to control the growing mess due to drug peddling in the state,
They have been allowed to deal with drug cases under NDPS Act. As per the act these officers can detain a person for three months for disobeying law as per the act.
The names of these officers are as follows:
A S Rai (1994) ,Gautam Cheema (1995), Naunihal Singh (1997), Shive Verma (1998), Kaustubh Sharma (2001) & S Boopathi (2007)
