KATHUA, Oct 7: The Health Department has intensified drive of holding inspections of medical stores to ensure strict compliance with regulations governing the sale of medicines in Kathua district.
Acting on the directions of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, the Drug Control Department today took action against two medical stores in the Jarai Chowk and Bhagthali areas and ordered their sealed until further orders.
It said that regular inspections of medical stores are being conducted by the Department. During inspection, violations were found at both establishments.
At one of the stores, no computer system was available for maintaining the mandatory digital records related to the sale of medicines.
At the second store a qualified person with the prescribed eligibility was not present at the premises, which is mandatory for the sale of medicines and its absence constitutes to violation of the prescribed regulation.
