Patna, Oct 06: In Ara, CBI arrested Postal Assistant Purushottam Kumar while allegedly accepting a ₹10,000 bribe.
The complainant, a GDS Branch Postmaster at Chhotki Sasaram Branch Post Office, alleged that his salary had remained pending for around 3 months and Rs 10,000 was demanded for its release.
One, Postal Inspector has also been named as an accused and was reported absconding.
The complaint also alleged threats of withholding salary or removal from service.
CBI registered the case on 4 October 2026 and is examining electronic evidence and documents.
