Bengaluru, Sep 25: Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge Nirmala Devi S rejected the bail plea of suspended IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) veterinary officer recruitment scam case.
Court observed that the prosecution had placed prima facie material showing a money trail between Gangwar and another accused.
Court added that the investigation is still pending and there is a possibility of destroying evidence and influencing further investigation & the case concerns alleged irregularities in the KPSC recruitment examination for 400 veterinary officer posts.
The court further noted the prosecution's allegation that Gangwar thereafter used the money towards purchasing gold jewellery worth ₹52.30 lakh from Bhima Jewellers.
The court denied bail Gangwar bail on medical grounds, finding that the claim was not supported by records placed before it.
