SRINAGAR, Sep 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Government to move a resolution in the Legislative Assembly seeking an amendment to the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, to exempt teachers appointed before January 1, 2019, from the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
The resolution will urge the Union Government to amend Section 23 of the Act to provide the exemption for all teachers appointed before the cut-off date.
It will also call on the Centre to undertake the necessary legal measures and issue the required notification through the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to give effect to the TET exemption.
