Jammu, Sep 07: AIIMS Jammu is set to become the first hospital in India to be guarded by an armed CISF contingent. The deployment is due to the hospital's sensitive location near the India-Pakistan International Border in Samba district.
The Ministry of Home Affairs had previously resisted Armed Security for Hospitals post-2008 Mumbai attacks.
CISF deployment at AIIMS Jammu is expected to be a permanent duty, following a security survey.
