Krishnanagar, Aug 19: An arrest warrant has been issued against Krishnanagar MP Mahua Moitra on charges of making objectionable remarks that allegedly hurt religious sentiments and for not complying to judge’s order to appear before the court in person.
The warrant was issued in connection with a complaint filed in the Third Judicial Magistrate Court of Krishnanagar, Nadia.
According to the procedure under Section 227 of the BNSS related to the complaint case, the court had issued multiple summons for examination of the charges.
The charges include allegations of outraging the modesty of women, promoting enmity among groups, hurting religious feelings, issuing criminal threats, and making hate speeches.
