Jammu Administration along with Police demolishes illegal properties of notorious drug kingpins worth Rs 10 Cr

JAMMU, JUNE 10: In a major crackdown against the drug menace and organized crime under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), the District Administration Jammu along with District Police Jammu, today demolished three illegal structures belonging to notorious drug kingpins and hardcore criminals at revenue village Harsha Dabbar in Tehsil Bishnah.

The enforcement drive was executed on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Jammu Dr Rakesh Minhas (IAS) and in coordination with SSP Jammu Joginder Singh. The demolished structures were linked to individuals heavily involved in multiple heinous criminal offences under the NDPS and other Acts of BNS and BNSS. These elements were actively running narcotics trafficking modules and organized crime networks, severely disrupting public order and creating a sense of insecurity among the local population.

The demolished illegal properties belonged to three key history-sheeters. Among them was Gulzar Ahmed alias Lahu, son of Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Waziru Chak, Tehsil Bishnah, who is a notorious criminal with 28 FIRs registered against him. The second structure belonged to Farman Ali alias Phalla, son of Bashir Ahmed, currently residing in Sarore, Samba, who faces 8 impending FIRs. The third demolished property belonged to Fareeda Bibi alias Majeeda, a resident of Waziru Chak, Bishnah, who has been identified as a conduit for a UAPA accused and has an active FIR registered against her under the NDPS Act.

The total valuation of the three dismantled structures including land under Khasra Numbers 2191 and 2208, is estimated to be approximately ₹10.00 crore. This coordinated multi-departmental action under the NMBA initiative serves as a stern warning against the drug nexus operating in the region. The District Administration has reiterated that illegal assets raised through the proceeds of narcotics smuggling and illicit trades will not be tolerated and shall face similar decisive action. The on-ground operation was successfully executed under the overall supervision of SDM Jammu South, Manu Hansa and SP HQ Anna Sinha in presence of Tehsildar Bishnah, Ankush Tripathi, SDPO RS Pura Gurmeet Singh and SHO Bishnah, Deepak Thakur, along with personnel from the Revenue and Police departments.

The District Administration Jammu has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy towards drug peddling and land encroachment, urging citizens, especially the youth, to distance themselves from anti-social activities and contribute positively toward the sustainable development of the nation.
