DC Ramban in Action mode over utilization of funds

Ramban, June 9: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, today chaired a meeting to review the progress of projects approved under the Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) for the permanent restoration of public facilities and utilities damaged due to flash floods, landslides, and other natural disasters that occurred in the district in April 2025.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shokat Hayat Mattoo; Chief Planning Officer, Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather; Executive Engineers of PWD (R&B), PMGSY, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, and other concerned officers. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the status of works proposed by various departments within the ceiling conveyed by the DMRRR.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers of the Revenue Department, School Education Department, PWD (R&B), PMGSY Divisions of Ramban and Banihal, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, Irrigation & Flood Control, Animal Husbandry, and Sheep Husbandry Departments to prioritize work-wise plans strictly in accordance with the approved financial ceiling and PDNA guidelines.

The DC further instructed all departments to prepare and submit their plans in coordination with one another for onward submission to the Administrative Department.

He emphasized the need for close inter-departmental coordination to ensure the timely submission of work proposals and the effective utilization of funds for the restoration of damaged public assets and utilities.

The Deputy Commissioner also stressed that all projects should focus on long-term resilience and sustainability to minimize the impact of future natural calamities and strengthen disaster preparedness across the district.
